

We want the ‘Copper’ option near the bottom. Over in the tools panel on the right there’s a drop-down menu with five different choices, and you’ll see a preview of the effect in the main window when you hover over them. It doesn’t much matter which one we pick because we’re going to apply the filter effect settings manually. There’s not much here to suggest why this is called the Photo Styliser, or what process they have in common, but that’s OK because we’re not going to use any of these presets anyway. When you select any of the Color Efex Pro filters, you should see a small icon to the right of the name, and when you click this the left sidebar displays thumbnail previews of preset filter settings that are already built in. So now and again I have a trawl through the list to see what I can find, and I discovered the Photo Styliser is rather good at creating a warm, contrasty film-like effect. Some of them have uses which are obvious straight away, but some… well, not so much.

I thought it is just a mechanism to get me to upgrade to the latest version of Nik.Color Efex Pro, part of the DxO Nik Collection, is a terrific plug-in with an amazing array of filter effects, each of which has its own controls. Mine works to a degree, in photoshop I always save before firing up nik efex, as every 10+ goes it will crash photoshop. Have you tried running it all under Rosetta? No matter I can still use it in standalone or with CS6 and I will wait for an update. and Eye Candy 7 plugins are fine under 20. I say deflecting blame as Exposure's Snap Art 4. Checking afterwards it is fine through Photoshop 2020 but not with 2021(latest version of 2021) Though I mostly use CS6 on my old MacBook so I didn't think to check other versions. I bought it before I received my M1 Max and it was fine on my old MacBook Mid 2012.

Although they say it is compliant for 2021 it didn't install in that version either when I installed it on my Old MacBook Mid 2012. Film Pack 6 which they just released is not Photoshop 2022 supported either. The developers will make every effort to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. Adobe has made a number of changes to Photoshop, and, unfortunately, they do not communicate the details of those changes to third party vendors. They hope to have many of these issues resolved in the near future. The developers are aware that some customers are having issues using Nik Collection with this latest version of Photoshop, and they are currently working on compatibility issues for these customers. I thought it was my new M1 pro and reached out to Nik/DxO to confirm as I would launch Color Efex Pro and click okay but nothing happened. Nik having major issues with Photoshop 2022 (confirmed by tech support).
